Fatties Over Forty

Episode 080

This is the pizza episode. We traveled to Italian Delight to make a special "Fatties" pizza with help from friend of the show Rene Brunetti. There was no drink of the day as we were not at the bar. We all had a beer and made a 9 pound pizza. Enjoy the show!

Drink of the day Southern whiskey LIT Jack Daniels 3/4 oz, Bullet Bourbon 3/4 oz, Southern comfort 3/4 oz, Sour mix 1 oz, Lemon juice 1/2 oz.
Blanco and Jonesy are back at the bar. Blanco got bougie at an art auction this week. He is now an aimless collector. Jones has been dethroned. He is no longer the Chili cook off champion. We discuss the pilot hitting on random lady at airport via napkin drop. We talk about the baby sitter who found a monster under the bed. That leads to a discussion about scary toys from our childhood. Jones gave Twitch and try and failed his first attempt. We kick off sports with the Torpedo bat.

Drink of the day: Sonic hard beverages Mango, Lemon Berry, Cherry Limeade.
Jonesy and Blanco are in the bar. Times are tough and we are thinking about selling feet pics. That leads to a discussion on credit cards. We review things you should not ever do at Subway. We discuss absurd laws in the state of KS. We also weigh in on if Vabbing should be a thing. We shared a story of a man who grew a loofa in his shower. Sports is kicked off with our bracket challenge. We also want to know if the old BCS committee now works for the NCAA tournament. Chiefs free agent signings to date are rather lack luster. 

Episode 077 St. Patrick's Day

Drink of the day:  Belfast bomb 1/2 pint Guiness. Shot is 1 oz Jameson, .5 oz Baileys, .5 oz Kahlua.
Blanco and Jonesy open the St. Patrick’s day episode the only way we know how…Belfast bombs!  We give a shout out to the oldest living married couple. We know we will never make it close to that record as we are too fat. We discuss what we would do if someone destroyed your wedding cake. We discuss the best Italian chain restaurants in America. We also weigh in on the best snacks for road trips. Sports is dominated by the recent signings in the NFL. We welcome the Mustache to KC. 

Episode 076

Drink of the day: Premade Jack and Cherry Coke.
Jonesy and Blanco are back in the bar. We start it off by trying the Little Debbie Nutter Butter Cream pie. We pay homage to KC radio icon Johnny Dare. We reminisce on the shows 32 year history and what we will miss the most. Jonesy and Blanco are both done with day light savings time. It needs to end. Blanco’s neighbor’s tree fell in his yard and took out his tree. Jonesy sets him straight on how long he should wait for payment from the neighbor. Blanco is obsessed with the Brick by Brick Jordan’s. We lead off sports with the Geno Smith trade. We both are looking forward to the Chiefs finding a LT. We go over the Chief’s signings to date and discuss the Worthy saga. 

Episode 075

Jonesy and Blanco had a virtual hang so there was nothing special to drink.  We chat a bit about “Landman”. Shockingly we are both fans but wish there was a whipped cream bikini.  We debate how soon is too soon to move in with a significant other. What is the proper protocol for siblings splitting an inheritance? Blanco is not a fan of the rotting corpse flower.  Jonesy is enthralled with the kayak swallowed by the whale.  We test our knowledge of what you should do via a post sex check list.  We talk “4 Nations” in sports. We are also happy the Royals are bringing back the all powder blue uniforms as the home alternate this year. 

Episode 074

Drink of the day: vodka gimlet 2 oz vodka, 1 oz lime juice,  1 oz simple syrup 
Please excuse our delay. We are a bit late due to technical issues. This is our Bowl of Supers special. We recorded at The Shop Cigar Lounge on Strawberry Hill. We were joined by Shop owner Mike Simmons. The fatties give our big game predictions while sipping cocktails and smoking cigars. Blanco gives his favorite prop bets for the game.

Drink of the day: White Claw Vodka and Soda: Peach, pineapple, wild cherry, watermelon.
Jones and Blanco are back in the bar discussing topics de jour. We partially break our rules and give our thoughts on a bill proposal in MS to fine men for masturbation. Thoughts given on a diner who felt it was okay to take money from the communal tip jar to help cover their tab. We found out BK is selling cheeseburgers for $1 this week. That leads to another fatty fast food discussion. Sports discussion revolved around our preseason bets and they are settled. Blanco rants on the “rigged” NFL theory and the media giving it legs. We wrap up with our thoughts on the conference championship games.

Drink of the day: Nor’easter 2 oz bourbon, .5 lime juice, .5 maple syrup, top with ginger beer.
Jonesy and Blanco are enjoying a cocktail and shooting the breeze.  We reminisce about an old school Mexican restaurant we both love. That leads to a discussion on when it’s okay not to tip. We debate the Girl Scout cookie rankings from Food and Wine.  We discovered we have not been brushing our teeth incorrectly for a long time.  We wrapped up with Blanco’s picks for the conference championships.

Blanco and Jonesy are back from their hiatus. Join us at the bar for story time. Jones gives a recap of their recent trip to Universal studios in Florida. Blanco relives his recent trip to Vegas.  We round it out with the Fat Four for the divisional round.
